Some Real Gospel Teaching

A group went to a grade school and provided

Pioneer information. We could not "teach". We

told about Nauvoo, pioneers and give some

demonstrations on baking, candle makeing,

rope makeing & Bricks Grade school was 2 Hr

drive and very rural.

Sis Williams and Sis Johnson give demo on

baking in a pioneer "bustle oven" they had

ginger bread cookies . The kids were real

interested in the cookies.

Elder Williams & Elder Tolman making rope. We twisted 3 lines of 2, then put the 3 together. Using sisal twine. When the rope was made we held it and had the group do the jump rope.

E/S McGhee, Warr, Williams, we were out on our P Day visiting a near by community of people fr

om Switzerland. They came to area in 1850, similar to nauvoo. They all came to seek religion, and freedom.

There is a Prophet in Town, how blessed to have President Monson with us in Nauvoo for 2 days.
The 20 Young Sister Missionaries are marvelous missionaries, they will be a great asset to their missions when they leave Nauvoo.
Were did all the Young Performing Missionaries go? They made the summer so fun, the shows were great, they were great. We are going to miss them. We will still have to think young.
Family Reunions, Tabernacle Choir, Girls Camp and Youth Conferences. What a beautiful place to have all of these and to show them "Old Nauvoo, the Spirit of Nauvoo"
97 degrees, with the humidity it makes it 106, we had better shut down the wagon rides. "Did you ever think about shutting down the 2 legged sights? They are pretty protective of the horses.
"Sunset by the Mississippi" is starting each night on the out door stage, people are coming into town and we are getting busy, the missionaries are loving it.
Nauvoo is so green, no wonder the saints loved it here, even saints today come and stay.
5 inches of rain in less than a day, do we pray for rain to stop, we are not quit used to that being from Idaho.
"He hasn't been out here very long to be a counselor in the mission presidency, but he sure will be a good one"
"Look at the beautiful flowering trees, the green grass the daffodils"
"18 Young Sister Missionaries just arrived, it will pep up the old missionaries steps."
